Non Essential Swag

Singaplex is pleased to extend their support to Blue Ocean Fine Art Gallery’s inaugural campaign: Non-Essential Artist Month! Part of the proceeds of our selected shirts at the gallery and items featured on this page will be donated to Community Chest in support of families in need. The campaign will seeks to address sentiments of artists being viewed as “non-essential” (in relation to the COVID-19 situation), while hoping to open up a visual discussion on the function of arts in a modern society.

Artists include:

Jason Lim – Participant of Singapore Pavilion at Venice Biennale, 2007
Joanne Pang – 2018 UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore)
Justin Lim – 2017 IMPART Arts Winner (Artist Category)
Kester Wong | CHILLIDXDDY | Kimberly Teo | Jose Martinez | Ngoh Shian Bang | Yen Chua | Teo Huey Ling | Deyan Mihov | Irene Tee | Terence Lim | Junie Tang | Gary Ng | Joyce Loo

Besides the physical showcase of artworks, the campaign’s microsite also aims to spark a conversation amongst the public on the function of arts in modern society, and if the art has made a difference in their lives. Visitors are encouraged to drop by the gallery for the physical showcase of #nonessentialartistmonth at the gallery, where guided tours of no more than five can be conducted.
